No need to be ashamed. It sounds like you have a vaginal yeast infection, caused by an overgrowth of Candida Albicans. However, Classic symptoms of a yeast infection include a cottage cheese-like discharge, a strong, but not unpleasant vaginal odor, and vaginal itching and burning.
You say that you have had this discharge since you married four months ago. It is very possible that the increased sexual activity during your honeymoon irritated your vagina, which made you more vulnerable to developing an infection.
Women also are more likely to develop vaginal infections when they eat a diet that is high in sugar and carbohydrates; when they are stressed or tired; when hormones fluctuate during pregnancy or at the time of the menstrual cycle.
In any case, this type of infection is easily treated. You should see your gynecolgist who can culture the discharge and determine for sure that you have a yeast infection. This type of infection is usually treated with an anti-fungal cream or suppository.
One natural remedy for yeast infections is grapefruit seed extract douche, which acidifies the vagina and creates an unfavorable environment for the yeast.
However, I don't recommend your using alternative remedies before you are sure that you know exactly what type of infection you have. Once your gynecolgist confirms that it is a yeast infection, then you will know how to recognize the symptoms if and when you get another yeast infection in the future.
